The client was planning to introduce a Snapbook (or the so-called photobook of the new generation) in the market. I asked them what makes your photobook unique from the others. They said, 75 years of our experience in this field have helped them craft a product that enriches memories, giving it a premium feel at a reasonable cost. Since the snapbook/photobook is mostly bought for gifting, we planned to release it under the gifts section of the company.
The Product Design
Since the client wanted the product to be long-lasting and have a premium feel, we started with the design. The company provided a sample product using their best materials and coatings. Combining the knowledge and experience, the product had that premium feel. Now it was time for the design. I aimed to maintain the product's premium finish while highlighting the brand, ensuring that customers feel happy about it. Another reason was to make the Snapbook/photobook stand out from others in the market.
The Package Design
Since it was a premium product at an affordable cost, we wanted to provide a great unboxing experience. The package of the product also highlights the brand. While the whole package has that branding thing going on we thought why not use the backside of the box to highlight the other products in the company’s gifting section? And yes, we went for it.
The Content
The product was about to launch through the company’s Instagram. Highlighting the sentiment that “Gifts are great, but what makes them truly special? The right person and the perfect occasion.” Yess! The launch was planned for the month of love, which is another reason we underlined that statement. The goal was to create a video that not only showcased the high-end quality of the product but also captured the romantic spirit of the season.
People are on Instagram for two things:
- For Entertainment
- For useful knowledge or education.
We decided to give the target customer a reason to stop scrolling and watch our reel. I catered to this by blending entertainment with product placement, engaging users who love romantic and high-quality content. But a typical romantic reel would be the same as any other reel in that month of love, right?
We thought the video should stand out and that’s how we chose the idea of recreating an iconic scene from a movie. We recreated scenes from the song ‘Meri Jaan’ from the movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi,’ integrating our product into the video. This strategy ensured the video was entertaining and informative, capturing attention and raising product awareness.
The Conclusion
The launch during the month of love maximized the impact. The blend of awareness and entertainment worked well. Positive feedback affirmed the effectiveness of combining the right occasion with a solid marketing strategy.
